What will students be doing in the program?
Dream thinkers far west program
Program Sessions
Year 5 & 6 students will engage with interactive and hands-on activities throughout the 4 weekly sessions. We will start with exploring individual student interest areas, skills and strengths with the support of program buddies and people that work in Broken Hill. Students will then develop jobs they think will exist in the future, as well as courses that could help them reach their career goals. The students will then bring all their learning together to create an example of their desired future selves before exploring local industries through an excursion of Broken Hill businesses and organisations.

Information for parents/carers
The Dream Thinkers Far West program is an innovative program aimed at building and nurturing the aspirations of young people in the local Far West community. The project targets Year 5 & 6 students through hands-on, engaging and practical activities delivered as part of 4 one-hour weekly sessions, with a final session excursion of Broken Hill.
As part of the Eastern Australia Regional University Centre Partnership (EARUCP), Dream Thinkers Far West was co-developed through partnerships between the Country Universities Centre (CUC) Far West and three University partners, including Charles Sturt University, Macquarie University and the University of Wollongong. Our collective aim is to create institution-neutral, placed-based and culturally appropriate content, activities and materials to help support the achievement of positive student outcomes in the Far West.
